YATRA WHERE ITS ALL HAPPENING

BAR & RESTAURANT

Where the food stands out

like Everest in the Sahara

My first visit to Yatra was with Shahrukh Khan for Dinner, He was in London for ASOKA, s Launch and late in the evening hanging around his residence we all decided to go to “YATRA” as Shahrukh would describe the place as his kind of place where not only he felt at home but also loved the food and he never feels away from Bombay and the home cooking. This was my first visit to Yatra but since than it has become my favourite place too and in my opinion its not only the food its also the attitude of its Staff they can never do enough for you and you never need to look for help look around and they are ready and eager to serve you. The customer  service is just amazing as Sonu Lalvani who owns and runs “YATRA” and “Bar Bollywood” would say its not just the food I want my guest to come for I also want to give them an exceptional standard of service. And I agree with that exceptional service too as if you make a trip there you would experience it for yourself.

As I am very much a peoples person my emphasis remains on the people and the professionalism of “YATRA”s staff makes me feel very much at home they are never on top of you and never further away than a glance the attention you get at “YATRA”is certainly to write home about.

Going to YATRA is like seeing Rich list not only of the  Asian community but it also is a popular place with the visiting rich and famous from around the world including stars of Hollywood and Bollywood. One thing I was not very keen on that YATRA is closed on bank holidays and every time I go there with my friends I always make a point of mentioning to Sonu Lalvani that he denied me the pleasure of his restaurant’s experience by closing on the previous Bank                                                                                    Holiday…………………

Yatra offers exquisite South East Asian food in stunning surroundings in the heart of Mayfair. The décor is a cool fusion of Oriental and Indian with granite surfaces set against vibrant colours creating an interior, which is minimalist but welcoming. Water features further enhance the relaxed ambience providing the perfect setting to enjoy the exquisite and innovative food cooked by “young, energetic, Oberoi-trained chefs”.

Reviewers have found it “difficult to find fault in any respect” and have referred to the “divine” menu. There are both traditional and contemporary dishes and specialities such as railway lamb – an Anglo-Indian invention developed when the British were laying the Indian railways. Vegetarians and fish lovers are also well catered for with a range of unusual and irresistible dishes. The temptation continues with the dessert menu. Afterwards you can enjoy a drink downstairs in Bar Bollywood. Yatra has caused a quite a buzz in Mayfair and has been described as the restaurant

“where the food stands out like Everest in the Sahara”.

Its strongly recommended that you make a reservation at YATRA before hand
