Where ever on earth you go these days you will find communities of Pakistanis, Bangladeshi and Indians living side by side in perfect harmony and they are always pleased to see their people.

It is such a shame that our countries have not learnt to live in peace and harmony.

I remember few years ago I was on holidays in Hawaii, And late in the afternoon I was sitting on the Waikiki beach near the world famous Diamond head crater and thinking that its been three days and I have not had a single Roti and Pizzas and Burgers were beginning to taste funny.

And I saw a young Sardar Ji walking on the beach with his young wife I could not wait any longer and shouted to Sardar ji "Janab koi Pakistani/Indian restaurant ka pata chal sakta hai"

The young Sardar Ji couple walked up to us and sat down on the beach and told us that they have been living in Honolulu for the last five years and they happen to run the only Indian restaurant in Hawaii (I was so pleased to hear that I could only see an ocean of ROTIES instead of deep blue water).

Needless to say that Sardar Ji Drove us to his restaurant where we ate everything we could think of which reminded us of LAHORE (LAKSHAMI CHOWK). The amazing part was that Sardar Ji refused to accept any money he said Yaar apnay hum watna ko loon tay paisay ase nahi landay. That much emotion and love for our people.

I have never forgotten that but here in the west we come across these examples everyday Indians and Pakistanis have a great deal of love for each other. But the time will come when India and Pakistan will be friends again so it is the desire of all Asians living in the west and I am sure that people of Indian and Pakistan do want to live in peace and friendship.

I have extensive opportunities to meet Asians living in the west and I would like you to share what they say about India and Pakistan and about each other. Asian living in the west their feelings are more or less the same whether they are living in UK, orCANADA, USA, EUROPE, or any other country for that matter.

Here are some of the people from Sohni Dharti and their Friends.


	ASMA ANWAR

	ASMA ANWAR's family is originally from Lahore but she was born and brought up in London but the moment you mention Pakistan's name her eyes light up with happiness and excitement. She loves Pakistan so much so that she spends all her holidays in Lahore and Asma says even though she lives in London but her heart is in Pakistan she lives for the day when she will move to Pakistan for good.

Asma works in London as a beautician and meeting here you would think all the beauty of Pakistan is in her heart. She has very many friends who are Indians, Pakistanis, English, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Africans, and very many other countries but they all agree that to them Pakistan and India are very beautiful countries as the people from there reflect that in their personalities.

Asma spends all her free time in Lahore and I suggested how about getting a Gabro Jawan for you in Lahore and she laughed her head off but did not say no.


	JESSI-E SAHOTA

Jessi-e was born in England and her parents are from a prominent landlord family of Indian Punjab, She loves India and Pakistan and even though she has only been to India when she was little but the instinctive love of the mother land is intact .Jessi-e, s most friends are either English or Indian and Pakistanis and she loves them all she thinks Pakistani girls are always prettier and loves the Shalwar Kameez from Lahore particularly the Generation Stuff she is mad about.

Jessi-e celebrates Eid as well as all the Indian and English Festivals particularly Eid, which brings are even more happiness as her Pakistani friends usually give her Shalwar Kameez from Lahore.

Jessi-e thinks that India and Pakistan should live like friends, as only people who benefit from their conflicts are the arms selling nations.Jessi-e wants to become a designer when she finishes her education so a trip to Lahore and Karachi is a must to learn more about the Pakistani designs.

Jessi-e says Salaam to all her Pakistani friends through pakworld.


	APOLLONIA ASHCROFT

		Apollonia is originally from Italy her mum is Italian and father is English ,Apollonia loves Pakistan and its people she thinks that they are very much like the Italians who are very friendly and family oriented,Apollonia has MR&MRS Khan From Karachi as her neighbours and she spends lots of time with her neighbours as they remind her of the love of a close family.

Apollonia says she works with many Pakistanis and Indians and says they make the best friends and they are true friends she plans to go to Karachi and Lahore in February 2000 as she has heard of Basant Festival in Pakistan

Apollonia has worn Shalwar Kameez on many occasions and has had proposals from many Asian guys but has not made up her mind yet……………………..So hold on to your hearts guys……


		IAN PAULS

Ian has a great number of Asian friends and also works with a large number of Asians in a multi cultural Organisation He finds Asians to be great friends and very hard working and extremely intelligent (he did say with one exception and that's me)

And Ian loves Chicken Tikka and SAAG ALOO but obviously not too hot other wise he has to go off sick from work after a hot curry.

Ian thinks that God sent all the beauty to Indian and Pakistan, and he thinks there is nothing prettier than a sanwali saloni larki in the world

He is waiting for someone to invite him for a nice curry to India or Pakistan any offers please contact him direct…………


		SHABANA KHOKHAR

	Shabana is a true and true Pakistani Larki she is the heart and soul of the place where she works because everyone loves the Samosa, s her mum makes and she brings them into the office for everyone. Shabana gets hyper active when u talk about Sohni Dharti she loves it and she thinks that Asians living in the west do not value their homelands enough, so if you want to hear all the beautiful things Pakistani than just ask her

Shabana loves the designer suits from Pakistan and she does look very elegant when she wears it you feel as though you are in Karachi bazaar looking at some beauty made in Pakistan

Shabana is not yet married she thinks that no one can match the guys from Pakistan but has not got enough time at the moment to go to Pakistan and meet some exciting guys…but wait just wait when she come to Pakistan than you can all queue up to meet her


	MICHAEL MOORE

MICHAEL MOORE has a very keen eye for beauty Michael thinks that prettiest girls do come from Pakistan and India,(Well I must say I agree with him) Here is a man who knows his stuff when it comes to beautiful woman(or in his case girls)

Michael loves Biryani one of his friend's mum makes the best Biryani mind you the masala comes from Karachi Michael can eat Biryani till the cows come home.

Michael has a large number of friends of Asian origin and he loves the part where the families are so close and they look after each other he is not too sure whether he likes the brothers of pretty girls to look after them too much.

Michael's resolution for the year 2000 is to visit India and Pakistan, watch out girls the Ginger is coming and he has plenty of English Charm.


		LONE JENSSON

	Lone Jensson is Danish but lives in London now LONE has interaction with Asians all the time she has a great number of friends from Pakistan particularly when she used to live in Denmark she made friends with many Pakistanis from Gujrat.Lone thinks that Asians do make great friends and she would like to visit India and Pakistan one day. Lone also agrees that Indian and Pakistani girls are always very pretty and she says she has many a good looking hunks from Pakistan too


	Lone says she gets very upset when India and Pakistan fight as both countries have a great deal to offer to the world so they should be friends and help each other


	PAUL STOKES&DEPINDER RAI

Paul and Dependir work together with one of the best airlines in the world Paul says he thoroughly enjoys working with Asians and has numerous friends from Indian and Pakistan and he loves going to their houses they make him feel welcome and he loves parathay (stuffed with aloos) and he thinks when ever he gets married who would prefer his wife to be from Asian origin

Depinder was born and breed in London but she loves going back home most of her friends from the university are of Pakistani origin.


	Like Rubina from Islamabad and Farhat from Karachi her ambition is to visit her friends as soon as she can and of course shopping in Pakistan is a major attraction too And she also wants to take her parents to NANKANA SAHIB.


		ANDREAU AUGUSTINE

	ANDREAU is originally from Calcutta but have lived in England for some times now most of her friends and neighbours are from Pakistan and she loves them dearly. Andreau thinks all Pakistani guys look like Imran K han and all Pakistani girls look like Mahnoor Baluch. She loves Pakistani drama serials and follows them religiously.

Andreau thinks that Pakistani girls in the west have the best styles and they are so graceful her ambition is visit Lahore and buy at least 100 shalwar kameez suits.

Andreau thinks that Pakistan and India should live like friends and help each other and this is the only way they will progress in the world


	NICHOLAS LAW&VICKY NOBLE

NICHOLAS AND VICKY also work together and they both know a large number of Asians through work and also they have many Asian friends too.and they agree that Asians make wonderful friends and colleagues they have many get together with Asian friends and of course they look forward to the food Nicholas loves the food but sometime its too hot for him but Vicky can handle the hot stuff. They both fail to understand why Indian and Pakistan do not become friends, as the Asians living her in the UK are best of friends.


		SABA KHAN

	SABA KHAN was born and brought up in england she has been to pakistan very many times and thinks it's a very cool place where people have the best time the ladies particularly have the best deal in pakistan with all the excellent fashion avalible and also the great oppurtunity they have to wear all those fashionable clothes at shadis and mehndis. Saba khan loves pakistan and calls it"Mera Dil Meri jan"Pakistan

Saba travelles around the world through her work but says nothing makes her happier than when touches down at the sohni dharti and once in pakistan she feels so relaxed she thinks that politicians over the years have let people of pakistan down very badly but thinks there are great hopes with Nawaz Sharif and hopes and prays that things get better and better for her motherland.

Saba is a prime example of the legendary beauty of pakistan and all her friends call her the ambassador of pakistan and Saba feels very proud to have the honour


		JOYCE SOSODIA

JOYCE SOSODIA was also born and brough up in England and have also lived in southren Africa for some time.Joyce thinks that pakistani girls have a style which is not something you can get either u have that style or you don't and pakistani girls do have it.

Joyce,s parents are of Indian origin and she has never been to India but still she feels that she is Asian through and through JOYCE,S neghbours are from Lahore and Ghazala is her best friend they always hang around together.

Joyce takes part in all Pakistan functions and her best friend Ghazal takes part in all of the Indian celebrations thus giving a feeling of peace and love to each other

Joyce and Ghazala wish that both their countries become friends like they are and help each other joyce says when she feels down her pakistani friends always help her cheer up why can,t both these countries do the same.

Joyce is planing a trip with Ghazala to visit Lahore in feburary for te Basant Mela and seems very excited to talk about it.


		SHAHAAN

	Shahaan,s parent come from Pakistan but he was born in London he is only four but he speaks perfect Urdu with a clear accent and will have you corrected in your use of Urdu. Shahaan thinks Pakistan is the greatest because when he goes there everyone gives him so much love and after returning from Pakistan he makes his parents life hell because he wants to go back and live in Pakistan.

He thinks that Allah Mian lives in Pakistan that's why there is so many friends he can play with He is a true young Pakistani living in London

His Favourite song is "Sohni dharti Allah Rakhay"
