On the second day of the three-day international Ahmadiyya Conference in the 40 Acre grounds of ‘Islamabad’ Tilford Tony Coleman Mp for Putney addressed 30000 representatives from 80 countries and brought a message from Tony Blair the British Prime minister.
Prime Minister Tony Blair sent a message from 10 Downing Street to the convention in which he said “I am pleased to have this opportunity again to wish all the delegates who are attending this year’s annual convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community a most enjoyable gathering. I am sure it will be a great success”. Tony Coleman MP for Putney who delivered the message to over 25000 delegates expressed condolence at the passing of Mirza Tahir Ahmad the previous leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. He said last week whilst attending a meeting at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on elections and accountability in Africa, representatives from 30 African countries spoke highly of the Ahmadi Muslims. Fiona Mctaggart MP for Slough and Minister at the Home Office sent her best wishes and said the government welcomed the positive attitude of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community towards the promotion of values relevant to all in today’s society. She conveyed her best wishes to Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad the new elected head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Sue Daughty the Liberal Democrat MP Guildford said she valued the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s contributions to Cancer Research, Save the Children, and its youth’s efforts in distributing food to the homeless during the month of Ramadan. She also appreciated Humanity first the charity organisations efforts in the developing world. Carol Cockam Mayor of Farnham welcomed the peace loving community and appreciated the qualities of love, tolerance and goodwill.
In addition the proceedings were broadcast live around the world on MTA international (a free 24 hour satellite TV channel available on Sky Digital Channel 807) and was simultaneously translated into several languages “Over 800,000 join Ahmadiyya Muslim community” - Mirza Masroor Ahmad
On the Third day of the convention, following the successful initiation of over 800,000 people, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community leader Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad described the 10 conditions of initiation. Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad gave a detailed description of the 10 conditions of bai’at as laid down by the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Promised Messiah and Mahdi Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. He read out the 10 conditions of bai’at and said that everyone who wants to join the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has to abide by these conditions. The first condition is that he/she shall abstain from Shirk (association of any partner with God) right up to the day of his/her death. The second condition is that he/she shall keep away from falsehood, fornication, and adultery, trespasses of the eye, debauchery, dissipation, cruelty, dishonesty, mischief and rebellion; and will not permit himself/herself to be carried away by passions, however strong they might be. The third condition is that he/she shall regularly offer the five daily prayers in accordance with the commandments of God and the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him); and shall try his/her best to be regular in offering the Tahajud (pre-dawn supererogatory prayers) and invoking Darood (blessings) on the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him); that he/she shall make it his/her daily routine to ask forgiveness for his/her sins, to remember the bounties of God and to praise and glorify Him. The fourth condition is that under the impulse of any passions, he/she shall cause no harm whatsoever to the creatures of Allah in general, and Muslims in particular, neither by his/her tongue nor by his/her hands nor by any other means. The fifth condition is that he/she shall remain faithful to God in all circumstances of life, in sorrow and happiness, adversity and prosperity, in felicity and trial; and shall in all conditions remain resigned to the decree of Allah and keep himself/herself ready to face all kinds of indignities and sufferings in His way and shall never turn away from it at the onslaught of any misfortune; on the contrary, he/she shall march forward. The sixth condition is that he/she shall refrain from following un-Islamic customs and lustful inclinations, and shall completely submit himself/herself to the authority of the Holy Quran; and shall make the Word of God and the Sayings of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) the guiding principle in every walk of his/her life. The seventh condition is that he/she shall entirely give up pride and vanity and shall pass all his/her life in humbleness, cheerfulness, forbearance and meekness. The eighth condition is that he/she shall hold faith, the honor of faith, and the cause of Islam dearer to him/her than his/her life, wealth, honor, children and all other dear ones. The ninth condition is he/she shall keep himself/herself occupied in the service of God's creatures for His sake only; and shall endeavor to benefit mankind to the best of his/her God-given abilities and powers. The tenth condition is that he/she shall enter into a bond of brotherhood with this humble servant of God, pledging obedience to me in everything good, for the sake of Allah, and remain faithful to it till the day of his/her death; that he/she shall exert such a high devotion in the observance of this bond as is not to be found in any other worldly relationship and connections demanding devoted dutifulness. Earlier the worldwide initiation ceremony was conducted in which Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad took the initiation of 892,403 new converts to Ahmadiyya Islam by satellite. The Press Secretary Rashid Ahmad Chaudhry said “The attendance in the last session was 25,000 from 81 countries of the world.”. He also said “The whole proceedings of the conference were broadcast in 8 languages of the world and also broadcast on local FM radio.” The convention concluded with silent prayers. The Ahmadiyya Muslim leader asked the audience to pray fervently for peace in the world, the prisoners of conscience who are in jails because of their faith, the families of the martyrs, the poor, the sick and the needy. |
