Shahbaz Sharif pulls the crowds Shahid Malik
Shahbaz Sharif the two times former chief minister of Punjab is in London these days, after recovering from a life threatening operation in New York he returned to London and started immediately to reorganize and guide the Muslim League (N) in the UK. He has done a tremendous job of putting the young and the old together with a happy mixture once reorganization was complete he set out to revive the Pakistani community in the UK. He has held political meetings all over the country with an amazing number of people turning up to hear what he has to say. I managed to get to one of the meetings in the famous city of Birmingham which is not only the heart of England but also is considered the heart of Pakistani community in the UK. It was a dull and dreary day and was extremely cold. It was no fun driving down the motorway but I wanted to witness this new dawn I believe this movement will have a compact and far reaching impact on Pakistani political arena, As we arrived at the venue it was filling up with people it was well organized in some ways but lacked few things in others far example in such cold weather hot drinks should have been provided to all participants but there were no facilities, People were coming in the hall in their droves; it was a sight to remember as in UK people do not generally come to political meetings so easily and here not even a cup of tea was offered. I got there before Shahbaz Sharif and his entourage arrived and was offered a seat in the front row, it was an experience to be had many people tried to get me up from there but no one was sure who I was all the big wigs of ML(N) in Birmingham were buzzing around the front row and saying oh this row is for the chief guest but I just kept on listening the murmurs and did not said anything,
I was just waiting for them to say something to me directly so I could give them a mouthful but unfortunately no one said anything directly to me hence I kept quiet but it was no fun until Shahbaz Sharif arrived at the venue and he walked in with his group of people and came straight and sat next to me I could see the struggle going on as every one was trying to come and sit next to him, As Shahbaz Sharif exchanged courtesies with me I think these big wigs in Birmingham got the message and they stopped trying to get me up from the seat next to him, it was hilarious to see how everyone was maneuvering themselves into position. The meeting started fairly promptly with various leaders of PML (N) making speeches but the crowd was waiting to hear Shahbaz Sharif. Crowd was very enthusiastic and warm and i was amazed how much following was still intact for Shahbaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif I spoke to few people before the meeting started hoping that someone might say they are just here to see the HALGULA but no not at all everyone was there to hear Shahbaz Sharif and what he has to say. What was even more amazing was the positive and powerful speech made by Shahbaz Sharif, he talked about only betterment of Pakistan and how he thought things could get better for the future of our great nation. I never knew Shahbaz Sharif was such a great orator the audience which consisted of people from all walks of life were captivated, some people were hoping to hear Shahbaz Sharif knock the Generals but no not at all his gestures were all conciliatory and positive, He spoke like a true statesman and carried all the people with him the clapping was non stop and his anticipation was incredible. He spoke gently of issues which most Pakistanis living abroad were concerned about. He suggested positive solutions with positive attitude. General Musharaf should have been listening; if he had the problems he is having would have resolved easier, there is still time for General Musharaf to listen to Shahbaz Sharif and make Pakistan a more positive country.
If Musharaf was to talk to Shahbaz Sharif than he would not have to lick MMA and the rest of the Mullahs feet to get a solution. These Mullahs have no affiliations or loyalty they only represent their own interest and how much advantage they can take from present situation. Interesting to note that while Shahbaz Sharif was Chief Minister of Punjab he had the best control over sectarian thugs and so called Mullahs. Looking at the way Shahbaz Sharif is pulling the crowds General Musharaf should watch out if Shahbaz Sharif was in Pakistan he probably be the most popular leader there, So Dear President listen to your people and AWAZAY KHALQ KO NAKARA A KHUDA SAMJO………before its too late and before Bush loses Elections and than you are own your own So for sake of Pakistan and its people talk to your own people and their true leaders. Pakistan Zindabad
